Hi, I followed the LInux guide for creating a Bootable USB thumb drive for installing Ubuntu.
I have downloaded the .ISO and I used RUFUS (.exe program) to create the Bootable Thumb Drive.
However, when I restart the computer and have the USB plugged in, it goes into the "Automatic Repair" for my Windows 11. Yes, I believe my Windows 11 is corrupted, however, I have successfully installed Linux on my desktop PC and was/am fairly certain it should Boot into the USB drive and Windows should be irrevalant.
Even when I press F9, to get into the boot menu, I do INDEED see my SanDisk Cruzer 64GB USB drive, but it just takes me to the FOLDER directory of the Bootable media, that is, the Linux Ubuntu folder structure that was created by RUFUS. I can't boot off any file in there, and I clicked on all the contents and it just brought back outside to some kind of BIOS/Menu screen that has a List of all the F1, F2, ...F9, F10, F11, etc... key options.
How can I fix this?

Go into bios and set the boot order to USB before M.2 else windows starts first
Rufus needs to be set to GPT and UEFI
Are you wanting to run Ubuntu out of flash or install it over windows 11?
If you want to replace window 11 I recommend you swap out the M.2 chip and use a new M.2. This allows an easy return to win11 should it be necessary. Disassembly video here

Hey, shouldn't F9, which takes me to the Boot Menu upon startup of the laptop, work as-well? But like I said, it says "Boot From File" and the USB shows up as the device in the list (they are 3 items listed) but it just shows the Folder Directory of the contents of that USB
I forgot my Administrator Password, so I don't think I can get into the UEFI Bios and actually adjust boot order?
Do you know if taking out the M2 from the HP Elitebook and plugging it into my Desktop PC would allow me to Format it and bypass the "broken" Windows 11 install and the HP BIOS Administrator Password (I was told this is "baked" into the motherboard by HP)?
