Hi,
Again I must state how much I appreciate your assistance!
Still getting Error 10 which is "Valid password not provided." ... see below.
The password details you listed don't exist in the config.txt file for this model PC (HP ENVY Phoenix 860-000nd Desktop ) ...
Product Name: 860-000nd
SKU Number: P4Q93EA#ABH
All the same I tried the following:
HPQPswd64.exe /s /p"Trying&01" /f"pwd.bin"
then...
BIOSConfigUtility64.exe /npwdfile:"pwd.bin"
results...
<BIOSCONFIG Version="4.0.15.1" Computername="MADPC" Date="2016/08/30" Time="17:43:35" UTC="17">
<SUCCESS msg="Successfully read password from file" />
<ERROR msg="Unable to process command. Password is set, but password provided is invalid" />
<ERROR msg="BCU return value" real="10" translated="10" />
</BIOSCONFIG>

Has there been any progress on this issue? We are having the same problem with Access Denied.
---
C:\Temp>"c:\Program Files (x86)\HP\BIOS Configuration Utility\BiosConfigUtility.exe" /setconfig:bios_config_power_on.txt
<BIOSCONFIG Version="" Computername="COCKEYSVILLE" Date="2017/05/08" Time="15:23:50" UTC="-5">
<SETTING changeStatus="fail" name="After Power Loss" reason="Access denied" returnCode="6">
<OLDVALUE><![CDATA[off]]></OLDVALUE>
<NEWVALUE><![CDATA[On]]></NEWVALUE>
</SETTING>
<ERROR msg="An operation failed" />
<ERROR msg="BCU return value" real="13" translated="13" />
---
We have also confirmed the password is not set and the unit supports unicode.
We have tried with and without a password set and including the password in the command line
Further thoughs on resolving this issue are appreciated.
