Hi @Mother124,

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

I understand your device is stuck at the lock screen and won’t let you sign in because it says the PC is offline. Let’s go through a few steps to check what could be causing this.

Reconnect to a Wi-Fi network from the lock screen
– On the lock screen, look for the Wi-Fi icon in the bottom-right corner.
– Select your network and connect. If it connects, try entering your password or PIN again.

Switch to the local account sign-in option
– If you normally use a Microsoft account, choose “Sign-in options” on the lock screen.
– Select “Password” instead of “PIN,” or try the local account if available.

Use “I forgot my PIN” if the PIN is not being recognized
– On the PIN screen, select “I forgot my PIN.”
– This forces the device to reconnect online and re-authenticate your Microsoft account.

Restart the PC once and try again
– Hold the Power icon on the lock screen → Restart.
– A restart often forces the network adapter to re-initialize so Wi-Fi becomes available.

If using Ethernet, reconnect the cable
– Unplug and plug in the LAN cable, then wait a few seconds.
– Check if the network icon changes from “disconnected” to “connected.”

Boot into Safe Mode with Networking
– From the lock screen, hold Shift and select Restart → Troubleshoot → Advanced options → Startup Settings → Restart.
– Choose “Enable Safe Mode with Networking” and check if the device connects to the internet. After that, reboot normally and sign in.

Check for a keyboard layout mismatch
– On the lock screen, look for the language indicator (for example ENG-IN / ENG-US).
– Switch to your usual layout to ensure the password is entered correctly.

I hope this helps.
