Z800 Workstation
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I bought a (very) used Z800 Workstation, and I'd like to upgrade to a 2TB NVME drive using a PCIe NVME adapter.  I've seen online where people are able to boot from such devices but not specifically on a mobo this old. Searching the specs I can't see where it's been called out that the PCIe 2nd Gen slots are supported on boot.

Does anyone know?

or can anyone point me in the direction on how to check without having to just pay $200+ hoping it'll work? (The adapter cards are pretty cheap, but buying even a small NVME to 'test' would be a waste since I don't have further use for a small drive)

Hi,

The general rule of thumb is your PC is not able to boot to NVME using an adapter if the MB and BIOS does not have native NVME support.
