Hi All,
The HP desktop PC I have at home is used exclusively by me and my wife so I want to get rid of the need to enter my Microsoft password when the machine boots up.
I have tried ALL of the following but still I get the password prompt:
1) Press Windows key + R
Type: control userpasswords2
Select the User account you are using under the User tab. [There is only one account]
Uncheck 'Users must enter a user name and password to use this computer'
2) Press Windows key + R
Type: netplwiz
Select the User account you are using under the User tab. [There is only one account]
Uncheck "Users must enter a user name and password to use this computer"
3) Open Start > Settings > Accounts > Sign in options
Click in the Require sign in list box
Choose Never
4) Open Start > Settings > Personalization > Lock screen
Click Screen saver settings
Uncheck - on resume, display log on screen
Really appreciate your comments and ideas,
Thank you

netplwiz is the app to use
If you installed / setup ./ activated using a Microsoft account then the MS email & password must be used for the auto login with the netplwiz app.
If you had a local account such as JDoe for username in win7 or win8 and later created a Microsoft login account in win10 then you need to use the email and not the local account name. The local login always work but the auto login will require the Microsoft account credentials and NOT the local credentials.
Rather than auto login try setting up a 4 digit PIN to log in. Enter "hello" in the windows search bar and switch to a PIN instead of username / password.
