Want to test out ability to boot to the Windows Recover Environment. Repeated press of ESC during power up ... and get what may be the BIOS screen. Told to press F11 ... and I press F11. Get another screen with some stuff at the top saying cannot find certain stuff, but at the bottom there are several options. All of the options work except one ... F1 which is supposed to boot WinRE. But it only boots Windows.
I can get into WinRE when Windows is open by holding SHiFT while clicking RESTART. But I need to be sure I can get into WinRE if the computer cannot get into Windows. So far I can't find a way.
I already checked inside Windows and ran the command "reagentc /info" from an elevated command prompt ... it said that WinRE was enabled. So that's not the problem.
Please help.....

Although the documented HP method is not working for me, I found a Microsoft method that works. It involves playing with the power button repeatedly turning system on and off multiple times within two minutes. During the fourth power on, the system responded accordingly with the message I was looking for and ended up booting the WinRE environment rather than Windows.
