HP EliteDesk 800 G1 Base Model Tower PC
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hi
I'm running Windows 10 21H2 (OS-version 19044.1645) on HP EliteDesk 800 G1 TWR with an Intel i7 4770 3.40 gHz and 8GB DDR3 and a Samsung 500 GB SSD.

When i installed Windows 10 I installed it in Legacy Mode (I didn't realize it at that time). After a while I changed settings in BIOS to UEFI mode and the machine booted fine (and still does).

A couple of days ago I wanted to check someting in the BIOS settings, but couldn't get in. I just found my self at a black screen and nothing happens. I Googled and I have tried the following. Fast Boot isn't on.

1. Tap F1 when computer starts
2. Go into advanced start via Settings App.

This is a minor problem, cause machine boot OK and works fine. Just curious and maybe thinking, how can I do a clean install without go into BIOS. OK I now I can do a Reset in settings app.

Any clues?

Thanks in advance from "The Little Kingdom of Sweden" up in north of Europe.

Hans

The function key is F10, not F1.

ESC sometimes works better.  You press ESC (or F10) when you first see the green or power on light on the monitor.  If you press too soon you need to power it off and back on as reset or CTRL-ALT-DEL may not be sufficient.

F1 is used when there is a warning or important error such a fan not spinning.
