Hi @Xaviceval,
Thank you for visiting the HP Forums! A great place where you can find solutions for your issues with help from the community! I understand that you are having an issue with the unit not working or powering on. It will be a genuine pleasure to assist you here.
At the outset, it looks like a hardware issue with the unit. To isolate the issue better to being hardware related I would require some information to assist you better.
Is there a light on the power button of the computer?
If there is none, have you tried to power up the unit using a different power cord or wall outlet?
Please try these steps mentioned above and also perform a hard reset. Steps to do it:
- Please disconnect all the peripherals attached to the computer including the power cord after turning off the unit.
- Please press and hold the power button of the computer for about 20 seconds to discharge static electrical charges inside the computer with everything disconnected.
- Power up the computer now.
If it powers on and works then the issue could be resolved, otherwise, I request you to contact HP phone support to get the unit serviced by visiting this link: http://hp.com/contacthp
I have checked for bios updates from this link http://support.hp.com/us-en/drivers/selfservice/HP-Omni-120-Desktop-PC-series/5186992/model/5229569 for your product and it is not available on the support site.
Thanks for being a part of the HP community. Please let me know if this helps, and if it does, please mark this post as an “Accepted Solution”. Kudos would also be appreciated greatly for my efforts to help. You could simply click the “Thumbs Up” Button.
Thanks and have a blessed week ahead!

Hi @Xaviceval,
I understand that you have extensive knowledge about computer repair. Hat off to you on that score. I have searched extensively to find the bios update for your computer on the support site. I have not been able to locate it. The other option would be to contact HP phone support to send the unit for repair even to flash the bios and check the computer. Please visit this link to contact phone support: http://hp.com/contacthp
You could try this step which normally rolls back the bios.
- Please perform a hard reset first
- Please perform this step to roll back the bios. Hold down the “Windows” Key + letter “B” simultaneously and press the power button for about 5 seconds.
If this does not do the trick for you, then it needs to be sent in for repair as the bios update is not available on the support site.
Please let me know the product# of the unit and I will check once again on the support site. I genuinely hope that the computer gets fixed without hassles and is up and running quickly.
I hope things work great for you. You are a valued HP customer and it is paramount that your questions are answered. We appreciate and greatly value your business with HP.Thanks for being a part of the HP community. Please let me know if this helps, and if it does, please mark this post as an “Accepted Solution”.
