Hello, im very new here so forgive if i missed something or did not provide enough data..
recently purchased a Z840 pc that was used by mercedes benz,, after they were done using it i suppose they crushed/ wiped drives and sold it. i purchased such a unit but with a locked bios, does anyone know if HP can somehow provide a master password or if there are ways to remove such password. i own few more z840's but this is the first one with this issue.
Serial No. [personal information removed]
Product No. N0Q54EC#ABD
any information would be helpful.
I have tried few methods of clearing cmos and removign battery but i suppose the password is stored on non volatile memory. I can get into Windows but i am not sure if i can update bios and add newer processors to the system.

BIOS (and Power) passwords are encoded into the firmware of the motherboard and we have no access of any kind to that. Changing such a password requires completely replacing the motherboard with a new one that does NOT have a password encoded into the firmware -- and that usually costs a LOT more than simply replacing the computer.
I wish we could help you -- but we're not allowed to, since we have no way from here to verify ownership of any computer.
