Hi, Dave:

In order to boot from a USB flash drive, have it plugged into the PC's USB port.

Turn on or restart the PC.

Immediately tap the ESC key to get the menu of options.

Select the F9 boot options menu and from that, select the USB Windows installation flash drive and press the Enter key.

The PC should boot from the USB flash drive.

Awesome, where did you get a bootable usb  drive, how big does it have to be.?

HP Recommended

You only need an 8 GB USB flash drive.

Then you need another working Windows PC.

Use the Micrsoft media creation tool to automatically create a bootable W10 USB installation flash drive.

Download Windows 10

don't have another windows 10 computer,only a windows 7 computer.Now what  guys,any hope for this?

You can use the Microsoft media creation tool on a W7 PC, but you have to follow the instructions on this link for it to work:

Update to enable TLS 1.1 and TLS 1.2 as default secure protocols in WinHTTP in Windows - Microsoft S...

Does this do anything to windows itself? Need this to create a windows 10 boot USB flash drive or will it be a windows 7 boot flash drive. This is just to run the media creation tool?

HP Recommended

Those changes you are making are just to run the Media creation tool which will create a W10 installation USB flash drive.

You can try running the file without that information but if you get an error running the file, then you will have to download the update and make the changes as set forth in the instructions.
