Microsoft Windows Vista

Computer does have power, does turn on, fans run and one lit led under power button on the front. It is glowing yellow. The monitor, when plugged in, says no input so it puts itself to sleep. Any idea how I could get this thing to work? I don't care about the data on it, I just want it to work.

Look at the motherboard and compare the capacitors to the ones in these pictures.

If the motherboard looks good then it might be worthwhile to get it to work  Many vista system came with free upgrade to windows 7 which means they can get the still free upgrade to windows 10.

What is HP model and product ID?

Depending on the motherboard you might not have support for any of the newer (UEFI) graphic boards.
