@EarlDell67, Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
The HP 24-dp0014 is an All-in-One PC, and if it's showing errors related to RAM or memory chip failure, here are the possible causes and troubleshooting steps:
Possible Causes:
- Loose RAM Stick: RAM might have become loose due to vibrations or improper installation.
- Faulty RAM Module: A defective RAM stick could cause boot failures.
- Motherboard Issue: If the RAM slots are damaged, the system might not detect the RAM.
- BIOS/UEFI Corruption: If the firmware is not functioning properly, it may misreport hardware failures.
Troubleshooting Steps:
Power Cycle the PC
- Unplug the power cable from the wall.
- Press and hold the power button for 30 seconds.
- Reconnect the power and try turning it on.
Check for Beep Codes or LED Blink Patterns
- When turning on the PC, does it beep or blink any LED lights?
- One long, two short beeps → RAM issue.
- Five beeps → Memory module failure.
- Continuous beeping → Memory not detected.
Reseat the RAM (If Possible)
- Open the back panel of the All-in-One PC.
- Carefully remove the RAM stick(s) and reinstall them securely.
- If you have two RAM sticks, try booting with one at a time.
Run HP PC Hardware Diagnostics
- If the PC boots to an HP logo, press F2 repeatedly to enter the diagnostics tool.
- Run a memory test and note any failure codes.
Check for BIOS Issues
- If the system can enter the BIOS (press F10 at startup), check if the RAM is detected.
- If the BIOS isn't loading, try resetting it:
- Turn off the PC.
- Hold Win + B and Power for about 10 seconds.
- If successful, the BIOS recovery screen should appear.
Try a Different RAM Stick
- If you have spare RAM (same type: DDR4 SODIMM), try replacing it and see if the issue persists.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
