HP All-in-One - 22-df0023w

When I try to start up my computer, it's going to the system BIOS update failed. Unable to open BIOS image file.  I have tried several tips including holding down the windows key and b key at the same time and restarting.  It rewrites BIOS, but goes right back to the BIOS update failed.  Unable to open Bios image file screen.

Please read the following

try item 2 the CMOS reset

If that does not work then you need to restore an old bios.  The correct BIOS needs to be downloaded and in addition the existing BIOS (or what is left of it) need to allow a flash back to an older one.

There are three possibly BIOS for your 22-Df0023w  the SSID has to match the chipset on the motherboard.

The three are 86F0, 86F7,  and 86F8.  I have no idea which one is correct for your system.   The SSID is listed in the BIOS and also by the windows app MSINFO but obviously the system had to be working to find that out.

I would pick one of the SSID and try item 3 and the USB recovery method

Did you manually download and update the bios?  If the bios you installed was (for example) F40 and the executable was sp140724 then I would use an older bios from one of the following

If, during the update, the flash refuses to run and reports the wrong bios then try one of the other SSID.

Hi, @lsutiga063

This appears to be your PC specs:

HP All-in-One - 22-df0023w Product Specifications | HP® Customer Support

Please see this discussion...You need to make a BIOS recovery drive with the F.41 BIOS update file and not the latest two that HP has.

Your PC's motherboard is the same one as in this discussion.

"Thanks Paul, but this file seems to have errors...sp145453 and sp143666, Unable to make USB recovery flash drive, that's why when these updates are coming and people getting them installed are getting stuck in a BIOS update fail loop. Hence, on the basis of my exploitation SP141980 was fine, with this i was able to create BIOS recovery flash drive and finally restored BIOS and break the loop of BIOS update fail."

Link to the F.41 BIOS update.

The is link explains how to create a BIOS recovery flash drive.

I've already provided the BIOS file you need, which is good for either W10 or W11.

It did not help.  Went to work last night.  Came home this morning and it was looping.  I guess HP Assistant decided to do a BIOS upgrade while I was at work as the computer was working just fine when I left last night.  KInda ticks me off because now I'm going to have to spend money I don't have to either fix or replace.  I tried everything.  Nothing works.
