@Westkirby

I have gone through your Post and would like to help

This seems to be an issue with User Account Corruption or possibly damaged Windows files

I suggest you perform a Reset and that should work. You can refer to this Link: https://support.hp.com/in-en/document/c04742289

Keep me posted how it goes

Hi

Thanks for your help.

Unfortunately it did not solve the problem.

This is the message I got-

'There was a problem resetting your PC. No changes were made.'

@Westkirby

Do you have the HP Recovery Media? If you have the Recovery Media you can perform a System Recovery.

The HP Cloud Recovery Tool allows you to download recovery software to a USB drive using another computer. You can use the downloaded recovery image file inorder to install Windows operating system. Click here: https://support.hp.com/in-en/document/c06162205 to Use the HP Cloud Recovery Tool (Windows 10, 7)

Click here: https://support.hp.com/in-en/document/c04758961#AbT3 to perform a System Recovery (Windows 10)

Thanks.

I don't have a HP recovery media as my computer didn't come with one.

I tried to download, but I  don't have a USB stick with minimum 32 GB. So I couldn't download.

Can you give me other options please.

@Westkirby,

I recommend you follow the steps in the below article and check if you perform a recovery on the computer using the recovery partition on the hard drive.

Thanks.

I bought the computer 6 months ago.

I tried as per the article.

There is no recovery manager in trouble shoot. So it did n't work.

I have tried all the troubleshoot options as suggested by your colleague.

I still have warranty. Can I return the computer and get a new one please.

@Westkirby

If you are unable to perform a Recovery and  since you still have warranty I suggest you contact HP Support and order the Recovery Media

1) Click on this link - www.hp.com/contacthp/
2) Select your product type below.
3) Enter the serial of your device.
4) Select the country from the drop-down.
5) Select the chat or get phone number options based on your preferences.
6) Fill the web-form and proceed further.

Thank you
