HP ENVY Desktop - TE01-1177c

I did a BIOS update last October and upon completion the computer would not boot.  It turns on, fans are working , yet all usb ports and cd drives will not read/work.  There is no output to the monitor. Plugging in a keyboard is useless as it does not work since the usb ports aren't working.  Tried to remove and reinstall CMOS battery but no success.  Is this an indication the computer is now "junk"?  I've since ordered another computer but have been totally disappointed that an HP required bios update would render a computer inoperable.  Is there any way to fix this machine without having to take it into a tech shop?

Greetings @Dinoboy1

Welcome to the HP Forum.

Well, it looks like the BIOS update has corrupted the BIOS.

Your PC now has no: video output or USB function. A HP USB BIOS Recovery drive would not be detected and you could not see what is going on if it was detected because the PC has no video out.

The only way, I'm aware of, to try to fix this problem is to have a local PC Tech flash the BIOS using a Serial ISP Programmer.
