I have a HP Envy Desktop that will not boot.  I have performed every test I can find and everything passes or says a corrupted file has been fixed.  Still nothing, can't even get it to go into Safe Mode.  As soon as I turn on the power is goes to a black screen stating: "Your device ran into a problem and couldn't be repaired, Click or press Enter to see other recovery options, Couldn't connect to the network, Log file: D:\Windows\System32\Logfiles\Srt\SrtTrail.txt.  Can someone please help so I can at least start up and recover all my files.  I really would hate to loose all my work.

To do a startup repair you need boot into windows recovery mode. First read this article about safe mode.
Skip down to 'Enter safe mode from outside windows'. If f11 does not get you into system recovery then try turning the power on and off three or more times in a row.
When you get to advanced options select 'Startup Repair'

If the startup repair fails then try the restore point.

This video describes how to use a restore point.
Let me know if you need more help or if startup repair fails.

Let me know what you find out.

Thank you for responding.  I tried to start up in safe mode but with no success.  I also tried system restore and it says it didn't complete successfully.  Everything I do it keeps going back to "Preparing Automatic Repair", "Diagnosing your PC", "Your device ran into a problem and couldn't be repaired, Click or press Enter to see other recovery options, Couldn't connect to the network, Log file: D:\WIndows\System32\Logfiles\Srt\SrtTrail.txt

Click here for HP's official list of hardware tests.

UEFI warranty test: Check to see if there is a hardware problem: Watch this video.

If there is no hardware problem and you cannot get into safe mode, then consider

1 - take in for service. contact the closest authorized service center

2 consider s factory cloud restore.

HP is removing cloud recovery for system over 5 years old.
The actual wording is a limited time after the warranty expires
You may want to get a copy of the cloud recovery before it is too late.
Cloud recovery provides all the custom HP drivers.
Go to the below site and enter your product ID including the 3 characters after the # character
If you have cloud recovery you can restore your system using a 64gb flash.
It may take an hour or more to create the recovery USB.

Alternately, download from the MS windows store

If you do a cloud restore you will lose any data on your pc.  I assume you have backups and that some files are in the Microsoft cloud (OneDrive)

If no backup and not using OneDrive you may want to replace your boot drive with a cheap, temporary drive to allow the factory restore to work.  You can then attach the original drive using a USB adapter and possibly recovery important data.
