@SharK55, Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
The POST Error 41A - "Front USB 2 Not Connected" typically occurs on HP desktops when the BIOS performs a Power-On Self-Test (POST) and detects that a front USB header is expected but not connected properly to the motherboard.

The error occurs when:

The internal front USB cable is disconnected, loose, or damaged.

The BIOS is configured to expect that front USB 2 is connected (security or hardware integrity setting).

A chassis intrusion detection or tamper detection policy is enabled.

Please try these steps,

Check the Physical USB Header Connection

  1. Power off the desktop and unplug it.
  2. Open the side panel of the PC.
  3. Locate the front panel USB cable (usually labeled USB2, F_USB, or FP_USB).
  4. Ensure it is:
  • Firmly and correctly plugged into the USB header on the motherboard.
  • Not bent, broken, or misaligned.

Disable the USB Port Monitoring in BIOS (Optional)

If you're not using the front USB port or want to suppress the error:

  1. Turn on the PC and press F10 repeatedly to enter BIOS Setup.
  2. Go to Advanced > Port Options or Security > USB Port Configuration.
  3. Look for “Front USB 2” monitoring or similar.
  4. Disable it or change the setting to “Not Installed” or “Ignore if not connected”.
  5. Save changes and exit (F10).

Update the BIOS (Optional)

If the error persists and it's a known bug:

  • Visit HP Support and enter your model number.
  • Download and install the latest BIOS update.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
