Not necessary to reinstall Windows using Optane because the operating system is located on the slow HDD.

 

You will have to either create an offline backup image of the OS/boot drive, then restore this image to the new drive or clone/copy the original drive image to the new drive.

 

Macrium Reflect free (Link) works very well when doing either task. I suggests reviewing Macrium knowledgebase for tips on image creation and cloning.

 

Also disable Optane in Intel's IRST (Optane) software for the best experience.
