Newbie Here Hi - Problem is this When start pc using power button it powers up few seconds can hear HDrive start to spin then power hangs for a few seconds then carries on... have replaced previous hard drive coz it got a bad sector following the above... new HDrive was ok for about a week power was ok too BUT now the power button is acting up again. The PC is only powered up once a day in morning and powered down late evening. Have used HP Diagnostics Online everything passes, can't see any loose wiring connections. Any help or suggestions appreciated

@Hograth If the device is powering on, and the issue is with the drive hanging up, this may not be a power button related issue, perhaps, you could attempt the below steps to understand what's happening and resolve it accordingly:
- Let's perform a power reset as per HP standards:
- Ensure your laptop is OFF.
- Unplug all the external devices (If any).
- Disconnect the power charger from the computer, and remove the battery.
- Press and hold the power button for about 30 seconds.
- Connect the power supply (power adapter).
- Press the power button to turn on your laptop.
- Then put your battery back.

Install the latest version of the HP Hardware diagnostics (UEFI) on your device using this link: Click here for details
Hold the power button for at least five seconds to turn off the computer.
Turn on the computer and immediately press Esc repeatedly, about once every second. When the menu appears, press the F2 key.
On the HP PC Hardware Diagnostics (UEFI) main menu, click System Tests.
Click Extensive Test.
Click Run once, or Loop until error.
While the test is running, the time remaining and test result for each component display on the screen.
If a component fails a test, write down the failure ID (24-digit code) for when you respond back to us.
