Would require help as my desktop freezes after booting and won’t allow any factory reset

Welcome to the HP Forum.

 

I would try to check hardware if the PC will POST and load Windows. But then freezes at the Windows desktop. This could be a HDD/SSD problem or a memory problem.

 

A different hardware problem could be indicated if the PC is non-responsive (no LED or fan activity) or you have no video output.


Start the PC. Repeatedly tap the "ESC" key.

Select "F2". Run system and component tests to confirm: a drive problem, a memory problem, or other component problem. Run extensive tests.
