Hi @Bobbyg28,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.

When your desktop freezes after a Windows 10 update and simultaneously shows a printer error, there are several steps you can take to resolve these issues. Here's a systematic approach to troubleshoot and fix the problems:

Step 1: Perform a Hard Reset

A hard reset can help reestablish the connection between the BIOS and hardware, potentially resolving freeze issues.

  1. Turn off the computer.

  2. Disconnect all externally connected peripheral devices.

  3. Unplug the AC adapter and remove the battery (if removable).

  4. Press and hold the power button for at least 15 seconds.

  5. Reconnect the battery and plug in the AC adapter.

  6. Press the power button to turn on the computer.

Step 2: Use HP PC Hardware Diagnostics

HP offers diagnostic tools like HP PC Hardware Diagnostics (UEFI) to identify and resolve hardware issues.

  1. Turn on or restart the computer, quickly press the Esc button, and choose F2.

  2. Select the type of diagnostic test you want to run and follow the on-screen instructions.

Step 3: Boot into Safe Mode

Booting into safe mode can help identify if third-party applications or drivers are causing the issue.

  1. Press Shift while selecting the Restart option.

  2. Go to Troubleshoot > Advanced options > Startup Settings.

  3. Select Enable Safe Mode using a relevant key.

Step 4: Check Printer Connections and Drivers

  1. Ensure your printer is correctly connected and powered on.

  2. Visit the Official HP® Support to download and install the latest printer drivers.

  3. Check the printer's status on your PC and resolve any outstanding error codes.

Step 5: Update Printer Drivers

  1. Go to Device Manager (Press Windows + X, then select Device Manager).

  2. Locate and right-click your printer, then choose Update driver.

  3. Follow the prompts to search automatically for updated driver software.

Step 6: Roll Back the Windows Update

In case the problems persist after these steps, consider rolling back the Windows update that caused the issue:

  1. Go to Settings > Update & Security > Windows Update.

  2. Click on View update history, then select Uninstall updates.

  3. Choose the recent update to remove it.

I hope this will help.

Take care and have a good day.
