Operating System: Microsoft Windows 7 (64-bit)

My home went through a power surge and now my desktop won't turn on. Thinking it may be power supply? Live in a small town where no one works on computers. Help?!

Welcome to the forum.

I am not a HP employee.

 

A power surge may damage the power supply, the motherboard, and any component or device connected to the motherboard or the PC. 

 

That is unfortunate you don't have a local PC tech. Troubleshooting this problem requires replacement components to find the bad part.

 

Techs usually have this stuff.

 

You could try some of the steps found at this site (Link).
