Hi Emmamiaa,

1.  Windows Update says I am fully up to date, even though the Bios is still F.45.

Also, when I try to use the HP PC Hardware Diagnostics Windows (latest version, 2.9.0.0), it says my BIOS is up to date with F.45.  On the HP website, I type in my TE02-0042Bundle serial number and it asks me to select the OS I have but doesn't allow windows 25h2.  I chose 23h2 (latest) and it tell me my Bios is up to date with F.45.

So, I'm afraid to update the BIOS myself.  Furthermore, the power failure issue could happen during a bios update and totally ruin the PC (???).

2.   In my windows Pro 25h2, I am unable to find Fast Startup.   I follow Control Panel → Power Options → Choose what the power buttons do:   There is no option for fast startup.  In fact, I can find no fast startup options in any Power Options menu or submenu.  I use Windows Search for Fast startup and get only online results that say things similar to what you suggest.

3.   I moved power to a separate AC circuit and eventually got the same power failure/crash (3 days later).

So, how can I safely update the BIOS with an intermittent power failure problem?  Should I update this bios when Windows and HP both indicate what I have is the latest (for my serial number 2M02352L TP)?

Thanks for your help.

Also, in the HP PC Hardware Diagnostics Windows 2.9.0.0. tool, I hit the BIOS-System Firmware button "Check for BIOS update" and get the following result:  "Up to Date".  I hit the Next button and see Result: Passed (in green).  I hit "More info" and see Product ID: 319Q4AA#ABA and Serial Number @MO2352LTP.  I check my BIOS version i Windows System Information and see F.45 as the Bios, even after shutdown and reboot.

Thanks again,

Dan

Unplug from the wall, wait 30 sec, plug back in to reset the power supply safety fault.
