Hello everyone,
I confirm that I searched the forum for an answer before posting here!
I want to disable Secure Boot in the BIOS of an HP Zbook Fury G9. I think I need to do this so I can install a new OS (Linux) from a bootable USB. With my current BIOS setup (secure boot enabled by default), I got a message that the image is not authenticated.....
I saw in this forum a previous post with the same title and I tried to follow the instructions described in the URL but it's not the same version/reference and the BIOS menu is different and I can't find no "legacy" choice in my BIOS.
I tried unchecking the "Secure Box Enabled" box and after confirming it asks to enter a 4 digit PIN. I do that (or I think I do that). On the next reboot I go back to the BIOS menu for Secure Boot and the box is checked again. I don't understand... so I need your help.
I tried several times.
Regards

Done !
Thank you @Ub6424 for your support.
The most important is thant now it works well. But I'm not sure about the root cause nor what is the solution.
After update (BIOS and Intel ....) I've tried and I've enter the pin code with keys above the letters and WITHOUT pressing [shift].
The pin code entered must be displayed and now it's fine.
Previously I used mainly the keypad on the right, and after your first email I've tried the kays above the letter but I'm not sure if I pressed the [shift] or not. It seems to be natural to press [shift] to use the key in a numeric way (i.e.: '1' is above '&') but not here ...
So the solution could be to update firmware or to not use [shift] for the PIN I don't know .... but in this sentence you have the solution ! try both !!!
Thank you again @Ub6424

Hello @NotAFury
Sorry to hear that you are having problems ... I would like to help you.
(1) To confirm the deactivation of <Secure Boot>, use the keys above the letters to enter the 4 digit PIN, then press ENTER.
(2) Do you still have a bootable Windows system?
Kind regards

thanks @Ub6424,
(1) I'll try with the # keys above the letters I mostly used the numeric keypad (on the right). I think I've tried but so I can't be sure I did it the way you say.
(2) Yes, I added a second SSD for the new OS, the original SSD with Windows is intact.
Regards
