Hi @4U2see,

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding your PC!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

When your HP computer tries to boot but the screen remains black and the power button flashes red three times, there may be an underlying hardware issue. Each pattern of flashes and pauses corresponds to a specific error code.

Error Code: Three Red Blinks Followed by Two White Blinks

Possible Cause:

  • Prevideo memory error.

Recommended Actions:

Check Memory Modules:

  • Ensure your computer power cord is unplugged to avoid damage.
  • Reseat the memory modules by removing them and then firmly placing them back into their slots.
  • If reseating does not resolve the issue, replace the memory modules one at a time to isolate and identify the faulty module.
  • If you are using third-party memory modules, consider replacing them with HP memory modules, which might offer better compatibility.

General Steps Before Proceeding:

  1. Unplug the Computer: Ensure the power cord is disconnected to avoid any electrical damage or personal injury.
  2. Open the Computer:
    • Open the access panel to get to the memory slots.
    • Ensure you are grounded properly to avoid static damage to the internal components.
  3. Check Connections:
    • Verify all other connectors are securely plugged in (keyboard, mouse, power, network connectors).

If the above steps don't help, it could be a hardware issue. Let me know how it goes, and I'll assist you further.

I'm glad I could help! 😊 If this resolved your issue, please mark it as "Accepted Solution" and click "Yes" on "Was this reply helpful?" Your feedback not only keeps us going but also helps others find the solution faster! 👍
