Having issues with my Elitedesk 800 G5 SFF. It turns off after powering up. All i am able to see is the HP logo appear for 2 seconds and then the desktop powers off.

Hi @CPTech

This symptom usually means the PSU has a problem or you have a component short. A corrupted BIOS could also cause strange symptoms.. PCs are complex beasts!

Reset CMOS, replace the MB CR2032 battery.

Do you have to disconnect and reconnect AC power to the PC before attempting a cold start?

Could be a faulty peripheral port or a bad peripheral.

Try only a mouse, keyboard, and monitor.

Try only the monitor. Connect the monitor to different rear I/O. Try a different data cable.

Reduce the PC to a minimum config (MB, CPU, one stick of RAM, onboard graphics if applicable). Try a different graphics card if the CPU does not support integrated graphics.

Disconnect all other components connected to the MB. Try each stick of RAM, one at a time, in each memory socket.

Regards
