Operating System: Linux
Hello, I am trying to erase or wipe hard drives on a Z640 workstation currently running Linux. I normally just use a DBAN bootable disk to wipe all the drives 3 times to remove any data. However, that method doesn't seem to work on these machines. This a 2015 machine running BIOS firmware version 9.1.30.1008, Mode: AMT. I see references to an HP Secure Erase or HP Disk Sanitizer, but those options are not available in the BIOS menu? Would loading the latest BIOS version include those options? Or is there another method that can be used to securely wipe these hard drives? Thank you.
