@TonesBolo, Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding Error Code: 0xc0000017 on HP Computers!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

The error code 0xc0000017 usually indicates that there are issues with the Windows startup configuration. To resolve this, you can use the UEFI Firmware Settings to attempt a recovery or reset your configuration.

Steps to Access UEFI Firmware Settings:

  1. Turn off your computer.
  2. Press the power button, and then repeatedly press the esc key until the Startup Menu opens.
  3. Press F10 to enter BIOS Setup Utility.

Using BIOS Setup Utility to Perform Recovery:

In the BIOS Setup Utility:

  1. Navigate to the Exit menu.
  2. Select Load Setup Defaults to restore the factory settings.
  3. Select Save Changes and Exit to apply the default settings.
  4. Restart your computer.

If BIOS Recovery is Needed:

  1. Turn off the computer.
  2. Turn it on, and then immediately press and hold the Windows key Windows key and the B key at the same time until you hear 8 beeps. This should open the BIOS Update Utility to perform a BIOS recovery.

Hope this helps!

Take care, and have an amazing day!
