"Error:No boot disk has been detected or the disk has failed"
So I am now getting this message when I boot up the computer. I suspect it is a detection issue rather than a hardware issue because for about 2 weeks I've been getting "Microsoft Window is not responding" messages and no matter which option you select, you always have to shut down and restart the computer to resolve the problem. A week ago I woke to find the boot disk not detected message on my screen but a restart fixed it that time. Also, I was able to run the Diagnostics tool on the hard drive and it said it was aborted because of a SOFTWARE error...
Any help would be appreciated
Carl

Hi @Carl_64
Welcome to the HP Support Community. I'd be happy to assist you with the Hard Drive error.
To better assist you - May I have the exact model name of the product? Refer to this document for steps to find the product details. Do not share any of your personal information such as serial, phone number, email ID, etc.
While you respond to that, please try these steps to run the hardware test -
1. Hold the power button for at least five seconds to turn off the computer.
2. Turn on the computer and immediately press Esc repeatedly, about once every second. When the menu appears, press the F2 key.
3. On the HP PC Hardware Diagnostics (UEFI) main menu, click System Tests.
4. Click Extensive Test.
