This morning my HP ENVY TE02 desktop would not power up. I followed the basic troubleshooting guidelines on this site and Youtube, but none worked. I would replace the CMOS battery as suggested if I could find it on the motherboard.  Can anyone tell me specifically where it is? (I had no problem finding on an older generation HP Envy desktop.)

The CMOS battery on an HP ENVY TE02 desktop should be easily found.  For example, the BlizzardU motherboard found in the HP ENVY TE02-0xxx series, the CMOS battery is located right next to the left of the PCIe x16 slot: https://i.ebayimg.com/images/g/KfYAAOSwAf5oBpz7/s-l960.webp.

I appreciate the motherboard picture you sent as it shows me the CMOS battery is hidden out of sight beneath the graphics card. What a great place to put it - NOT!!! When I bought this computer, I was really impressed with the ease in which you can open the case to gain access to all of the major system components. I very much like the HP Youtube video that shows how to remove and replace the major system components. While the CMOS battery is not a major component, when it fails it has basically the same effect as one. I have no problem with the CMOS battery being beneath the graphics card. Not revealing that secret in the video is a problem that could be easily resolved.
