Freeze ups and slow response.  Can’t even run diagnostics.

Welcome to the HP Forum.

 

You may have a low level hardware problem or an unreported thermal problem if you can't run HP boot Diagnostics.

 

Finding the bad component is beyond the scope of a Forum. You would have to reduce the PC to a minimum configuration and also swap in different components until you find the faulty part if component thermals are okay.

 

Don't exclude the power supply when testing components.

 

Can you get into the BIOS? If yes, does the PC freeze while sitting in the BIOS for a good period of time?

 

Is the PC in warranty?
