Hi,
Recently I updated the BIOS firmware on my HP Desktop, which crashed hours afterwards. Since then, when I power it up, it first displays a message saying BIOS corruption has been detected; it then restarts to try and recover itself, but then says the BIOS recovery files either can't be found or are corrupted. (Note: my PC has had BIOS corruption once before, but it managed to repair itself.)
I've tried the recommended fix from the 2nd message, which is to create a BIOS USB recovery drive. However, I can't access the BIOS software for my PC on HP's Software and Drivers page, since the model of my PC is discontinued. (Even with downloading the BIOS software for the newest replacement model of my PC, it still goes through the same startup routine and doesn't recognize the USB drive.)
I've talked to two HP support agents on the phone, who both said that the only fix for my issue will erase all my data; any help getting the BIOS software for my model or any other solutions are appreciated. Here's the exact information for my PC:

Hi:
The product specs for your PC indicates that it has a Shire motherboard with a SSID of 8509.

See if this works...make a USB BIOS recovery drive with the latest BIOS update HP has for your PC:
Here is the link to the latest BIOS update HP has for the Shire motherboard:

Watch this video for how to do that. It works the same for your model PC, even though the video indicates it is for notebook PC's.
You will need another PC. You should only be given the option to create a recovery drive on a different model PC.

After you create the USB BIOS recovery drive, follow the instructions that show up after the USB recovery drive has been successfully created, which should be:
1. Power off the device to be recovered.
2. Insert the USB flash drive into a USB port.
3. Power on the device.
4. The device may reboot up to 3 times with indicator lights on the keyboard flashing, or the screen appearing blank for short time.
If that doesn't work, try creating a BIOS recovery drive with one of the previous BIOS updates, newest one first (F.39).
They are listed under the Revision History section of the driver link I posted.

How long should I be waiting? I created the new USB recovery drive, and the 2nd BIOS message no longer appears, but my PC has been powered up with a blank screen for about 10 minutes.
