HELP !!! BIOS PassWord Removal on HP Compaq 6000 Pro MT

HP Compaq 6000 Pro MT
Microsoft Windows 7 (32-bit)

Desperately need HELP!!

CAN NOT REMOVE SETUP (BIOS) password !!

I Already TRY recommended solution from HP:

*************************************************************

https://support.hp.com/rs-en/document/c03100746

1)

To disable the power-on or setup password features, or to clear the power-on or setup passwords, complete the following steps:

  1. Shut down the operating system properly, and then turn off the computer and any external devices, and disconnect the power cord from the power outlet.
  2. With the power cord disconnected, press the power button again to drain the system of any residual power.
  3. Remove the computer cover or the access panel.
  4. Locate the header and jumper.
  5. Remove the jumper from pins 1 and 2. Place the jumper either on pin 1 or 2, but not both, so that it does not get lost.
  6. Replace the computer cover or the access panel.
  7. Reconnect the external equipment.
  8. Plug in the computer and turn it on. Allow the operating system to start. This clears the current passwords and disables the password features.
  9. To establish new passwords, repeat steps 1 through 4, replace the password jumper on pins 1 and 2, and then repeat steps 6 through 8. Establish the new passwords in Computer Setup.

NOT WORKING !!!

2) I already try to RESET CMOS ... but this not affecting BIOS Password !!

https://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c01941948

Clearing and Resetting the CMOS

The computer’s configuration memory (CMOS) stores information about the computer’s configuration.

The CMOS button resets CMOS but does not clear the power-on and setup passwords.

Clearing CMOS will clear the Active Management Technology (AMT) settings in the Management Engine BIOS Extension (MEBx), including the password. The password will default to “admin” and will need to be reset. The AMT settings will also need to be reset. To access the MEBx, press Ctrl+P during POST.

  1. Turn off the computer and any external devices, and disconnect the power cord from the power outlet.
  2. Disconnect the keyboard, monitor, and any other external equipment connected to the computer.
  3. Remove the computer cover or access panel.
  4. Locate, press, and hold the CMOS button in for five seconds.
  5. Replace the computer cover or access panel.
  6. Reconnect the external devices.
  7. Plug in the computer and turn on power.

CMOS is RESET but Settup Password is Still active !!

*********************************************************

3) I can enter SETUP (BIOS) by hitting three times Enter key but this gave me only READ ONLY access ... I can view everything in BIOS but I CAN NOT Change anything !!

***********************************************************

4) Finally I have Idea to FLASH NEW BIOS ... and to hope that new BIOS Override OLD BIOS Settings ... But I'm not that Lucky ... F9 key for BOOT MENU is also PROTECTED with PASSWORD !!!

This Is mine worst Nightmare ... I have THREE this kind machines ... all three from same firm ... with 8 COM ports at the back. With some WIBU CodeMeter Dongle USB key connected at InSide USB port (in side the computer case)

Can AnyBody HELP ?

HELP !!! BIOS PassWord Removal on HP Compaq 6000 Pro MT

I made some Small Progress

Following are from official HP suport video:

- power Off my Computer.

- press and hold together WIN + B keys

- press POWER button to for 1-3 sec

- computer will start ... release POWER button ...

- DO NOT release WIN + B keys until you heard some BEEPs

This trick allowed me to BOOT from USB ...

Since 7 of my 10 USB ports are DISABLED in BIOS and acessing to BOOT MENU with F9 key was also Password protected, this is step forward to me ...

My idea was was to flash new BIOS ... but that is NOT POSSIBEL without ADMISTRATOR PASSWORD !!

When flashing BIOS from DOS ther is Password Utility for setting up BIOS password ... Here are the quotes from Read.me file:

"Assign Password (assignpw.exe) can be used with DOS Flash if a Setup Password
has been previously set on the target system. To assign a password to DOS
Flash, change directories to the directory that contains flashbin.exe and
flsh.cpu and type "assignpw flsh.cpu". You will be prompted to type in the
password. Press RETURN after you have typed in the password. You may use the
BACKSPACE key to correct mistakes. You will then be prompted to confirm the
password that you just entered. Pressing ENTER before any password keys have
been typed in will unassign the previously assigned password. You may need to
do this if the Setup Password is deleted from the client machines. To assign a
new password, just run the Assign Password utility again."

This was my last Hope ... Pressing ENTER before any password keys have
been typed in will unassign the previously assigned password.

I done as instructed ... message was PASSWORD CLEARED !!! ... but of course that was not true !!

ADMISTRATOR PASSWORD is STILL ACTIVE !!!

Please Any one Help

I try CMOSPWD windows utility for removing BIOS passwords ... NOT WORKING !!

Have you tried CTRL+P ?

There might be some "management" setting that is defeating your attempt to change/delete the password.
