Microsoft Windows 11

I have an HP 22dw0023 desktop aio PC. It came with 8gb of ram. It boots up very slowly. I just added 8gb of ram. It still lags way too much. What do I need to do to speed up boot ups?

What you needed to do was better research -- as adding more memory to an 8GB machine actually LENGTHENS the boot time because it does a memory check as part of that and NOW, you have twice as much memory to check.

This for of slow boot nearly always means the primary drive is failing, will need to be replaced, and Windows reinstalled on the PC.

Sorry. I apparently didn’t explain myself very well, and I did not need to do any more research. The problem is resolved without having to  follow your suggestions. My addition of the 8gb has sped up the computer a great deal.

The next day it booted up much quicker than ever and has not let me down since.

I figured I would get suggestions here about clearing cache or something along that line.

I’m glad it was nothing like what you suggested—‘primary drive failing’—so I did not need to replace the drive or reinstall Windows.

I have no idea what your link would take me to, but I didn’t need use it. Thanks for stopping by and trying.

Sometimes the computers are just finicky.
