HP Compaq Pro 6305 Small Form Factor PC
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

HP 6305 has a softpaq 110118.exe HP PC Hardware Diagnostics UEFI.

One thing listed under fixes is, - Adds HP BIOS Update Version 3.9.3.0.

During installation it found the HP_TOOLS fat32 partition but the BIOS update didn't install.  I used the F2 option during bootup to access the newly installed softpaq but I didn't see an option there to do a BIOS update.  The F10 option was still active to enter the BIOS user interface and it still showed BIOS 2.77.  The option to update the BIOS in that menu searches for a ROM cabinet.  The Windows BIOS install utility, HPQFlash, also searches for a ROM cabinet file to install.  What I have to work with is the HP_TOOLS\Hewlett-Packard\BIOSUpdate\ folder with a list of 18 files with .efi and .s## extensions.

My question is what do I do to install these files for the 3.9.3.0 BIOS update.

If I create a cabinet file named ROM and use the HPQFlash utility, would that work?

SP110118 has been superseded by a later Service Pack.

If you unpack the files in any Service Pack, it is the "BIN" file that you can use within BIOS SETUP.

Copy that file to a USB memory-stick.

Restart and enter BIOS SETUP.

Point the "updater" to the file on the memory-stick.

Let it update.
