Hi, I have a HP All-In-One 27-a031. Originally it wasn't powering on. No fans ort beeps or anything. I replaced the motherboard and now the lights and fan come on but the screen stays blank.
I am suspecting the BOIS is corrupt because the beep codes I'm getting are 2 long beeps then 2 short beeps I created a bootable USB drive with the latest BIOS. I inserted that and kept pressing the ESC key but nothing shows up. Is this the correct key to press or that is the process to update the BIOS on these devices?
Thanks!
Todd

hi
if you have this problem with a new motherboard, I would advise you to contact the reseller
for the bios, hp only provided this document
Recovering the BIOS (Basic Input Output System)
Turn off the computer that requires the BIOS recovery, and then wait 5 to 10 seconds.
Insert the USB flash drive with the BIOS file into an available USB port on the computer.
press and hold the Windows key and the b key at the same time, and then simultaneously press and hold the power button for 2 to 3 seconds.
Continue to hold the Windows and b keys, but release the power button. You might hear a series of beeps.
If a message displays that the computer improperly shut down or a boot problem is detected, follow the on-screen instructions to resolve the error.

Thanks for your reply. I tried the Win. + B key multiple times and nothing shows on the screen. Tried plugging in an external monitor and nothing there too. Tried Win. + V, the Esc. key and most of the FN keys also. Not sure what the trick is.
Do I need to do anything to the files and folders on the USB stick so the computer will read the files? There are 3 folders on the drive.
Thanks.

did you create the usb key as mentioned in the link?

If that doesn't work, I advise you once again to contact the motherboard vendor.
it should be usable, without updating the bios

I've tried those key combinations multiple times. It looks like the videos are more for laptops and not an All-In-One like I have. It appears it detects the mouse on boot-up but no lights come on, on the keyboard so it might not be recognizing the key strokes anyway.
Ask for the MFG. of the motherboard, that would be HP so would that be another dept. at HP I would need to talk to?
Thanks.

no idea, the motherboard having been purchased at retail, it may not even be guaranteed by hp, try
