Long story short, I have an Elitedesk 800 G3 Mini with a SATA ssd dual booted with Kali and Ubuntu. I have been using the bios to boot between these two OSes. I upgraded the ram with an 8 gigabyte SODIMM module that exactly matched the one already in the system for a total of 16 gigs. Kali is first in boot order, and boots extremely quickly to its menu with the options to either head to the UEFI firmware settings or continue to its operating system. If you continue to the operating system, all is well and 16 gigs are recognized so I do not believe it is a faulty stick. If I choose to head to the UEFI through the Kali menu, it reboots yet freezes on HP Sure Start. If I spam escape while rebooting, it is the same screen yet with “Entering startup menu…” in the bottom left but seems to also freeze. Any suggestions?
