Hi yes proxmox is actually a Debian based hypervisor, I have it on 3 nodes  running on different 1litre PC. all are fine with my ext hdd except for the HP. 

 

I am planning on doing a bootloader repair soon, when i find the time. I will post back the outcome.

I appreciate your help hopefully this will resolve it.
