So my laptop hasn’t been booting up since I restarte and updated my laptop and now it’s stuck on a boot loop. Although I’ve tried to do an automatic repair, once I shut down and turn on my laptop the three consecutive times as recommended, it does not do an automatic repair. I decided to leave my computer with the charger in hopes that it would fix itself and eventually but 6 hours later with no progress made. Someone please help with this problem.

Hi @Justinwolf123,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to assist you.

I understand you're experiencing an issue with your Laptop that is not booting up.

I apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused, I'm here to help you today.

Perform a power drain on your PC.

1) Unplug the power cord from the PC & wall.

2) Disconnect the power cable from the AC adapter if it is a detachable part and keep it aside.

3) Press and hold the power button down for 15 seconds and release the power button, wait for about 30 seconds.

4) Plug the power cord back into the AC adapter, then connect it to the wall and to the charging port on your PC.

5) Power on the PC and wait for the PC to boot into Windows now.

If it does not boot up, follow the steps below to perform an extensive system test to confirm if the hardware is working fine.

1) Shut down the computer.

2) Turn the computer back on again and repeatedly tap on the ESC until a Startup menu appears.

3) Press F2 once.

4) Go to the system test > extensive test

If the hardware is working fine. Kindly refer to the steps on this link to perform system restore on your laptop and let me know if that resolves the issue.

If the issue still persists, click on this link to perform a recovery on your Laptop.  (Take a backup of the data before performing a recovery)

Please mark this post as “Accepted Solution” if the issue is resolved and if you feel this reply was helpful click “Yes”.

So it started to boot up but now it’s stuck on the boot screen leaving me looking at the screen where it looks like it’s booting up yet it doesn’t. Automatic repair doesn’t work when I try to turn on and off the laptop 3 times so now I’m stuck with this new problem. The hardware is fine so I really don’t know what could be happening. Please help.
