HP Pavilion Wave Desktop - 600-a014
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hello my Pavilion is not booting up and when I run the HP hardware diagnostics, I am getting failure id - HP Failure ID 94GCQM-8GN9BB-9XPK6K-40HF03. It appears to be a memory failure on the only SIM in the machine. Can anyone interpret this failure ID for me?

Also the issue is erratic, sometimes the machine is working fine and then it freezes and doesn't boot with the above error.

Thanks!

Hi, Greg:

The exact meaning of the code is:  Memory Module 2 Failure.

Just for kicks, you may want to install the module in the other slot, which I presume is slot 1.

If that doesn't resolve the problem, I guess you will have to purchase a new memory module.

That is not uncommon for a memory module to be 'flaky'...works fine sometimes and not others.

I had the same issue with an old Dell PC.

Once I isolated which of the two memory modules was causing the PC to freeze occasionally, I replaced it and it ran fine ever after.
