@Alexis-P -- Windows 10, and/or the HP Support Assistant, should be providing the correct device-drivers, assuming that the cables from the "back" of the reader are correctly attached to the correct points on the motherboard.
- Right-mouse-button click on the Windows "Start" button.
- Choose "Device Manager".
- Look for "yellow triangles" or "red-X" markers. If none, then all the installed hardware has a device-driver.
- Expand the branches of the "tree".
- Look for a description of your USB devices. Your card-reader should be listed.
