Hi,
I have an HP Omen 25L and when I try to start it, it won’t.
I checked the power connections, power cable, removed RAMs and checked, removed GPU and checked, removed the SSD hard, did a visual inspection on the motherboard but nothing made it start except for when I removed the CMOS battery and installed it again (BIOS reset).
I changed the battery but it still didn’t work.
Checked for windows updates and advanced optional updates. Everything is up to date.
I updated the BIOS (currently F.44 and this should be the latest for my windows 11 version).
loaded default settings on BIOS.
After doing all of the above, I am still facing the same issue.
can someone help please?

Greetings @Bumbblebee_
Welcome to the HP Forum.
I'm a little confused. Maybe I am misunderstanding the order of events.
You have indicated the PC won't start.
How did you check for Windows updates and other updates. And the PC is up to date.
Plus you installed a BIOS update. You also loaded default BIOS settings. And you reset CMOS
Doing the above suggests you got a good POST and you were able to use Windows.
Is Windows not starting or is the PC having a POST problem?

Thanks for replying.
so I did mention “but nothing made it start except for when I removed the CMOS battery and installed it again (BIOS reset).”
took the CMOS battery out and plugged it back in and my PC started then I performed all of these updates.
However, I did more troubleshooting today and I removed the PB connector and just shortened the pins. The PC started fine which is making me believe its power button or loose connection related.

Greetings @Bumbblebee_
My pleasure.
Yes, a power button can cause PC POST problems.
I've seen a faulty power button allow the PC to POST and you can sign in to Windows. Then, within a few minutes, the PC abruptly shuts down .
Or the PC is DOA. Nothing happens when you depress the power button.
The above behaviors mimic a power supply problem, or a component: short to ground or thermal problem.
