Operating System: Microsoft Windows 11
I have an HP Omen 40L, model GT21-0014. I bought a new i7-14700 CPU to replace the original i5-12400F CPU, and according to the specs for the motherboard, it should be compatible: https://support.hp.com/us-en/document/ish_5807279-5807329-16
However, after updating the BIOS, seating the CPU, and performing a CMOS reset, the computer will turn on for ~1 second (LED lighting and fans will kick in) before powering back down.
I was able to exchange the i7 for a new one, and it also had the same issue. Re-seating the original i5 CPU allows the PC to boot normally.
