Hi  @ritz2869

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thank you for reaching out. I understand that you have already updated the HP PC Hardware Diagnostics UEFI application, yet your system continues to indicate that an older version is being used. I will be glad to help you check  this further.

To better understand the issue, could you kindly share the following details?

  • The current BIOS version installed on your PC.
  • The version of HP PC Hardware Diagnostics UEFI that you downloaded and installed.
  • Does the message appear when launching Diagnostics from within Windows, or when accessing Diagnostics through the UEFI environment during startup?

In the meantime, kindly try the below steps and confirm :

  1. Verify the Installed Version
    • Open HP PC Hardware Diagnostics UEFI.
    • Check the version number displayed within the application and compare it with the latest version available for your specific model on HP's support website.
  2. Update the UEFI Diagnostics Directly
    • Restart the PC and press F2 repeatedly during startup to enter HP PC Hardware Diagnostics UEFI.
    • Select Firmware Management or Diagnostics Update if available.
    • Allow the system to update the diagnostics environment.
  3. Reinstall HP PC Hardware Diagnostics UEFI
    • Uninstall the current version from Windows.
    • Restart the computer.
    • Download and install a fresh copy from HP Support for your specific model.
  4. Update the BIOS
    • An outdated BIOS can sometimes cause version mismatch messages between Windows and the UEFI diagnostics environment.
    • Ensure your BIOS is updated to the latest version available for your model - https://support.hp.com/ .

I hope this helps.
