Hello,
I got this Pavilion 7850 (yes, from 2000) a couple of months ago for free. It does not work, obviously. When I connect the power cord to the PSU, the computer turns on. No video on my monitor, CPU fan spins up, and solid orange light below the power button. Also something of note is that the power button doesn't do anything, I've tried to rearrange the pins for the power button, never have gotten it to work. On my keyboard (USB, connected to the board), no lights coming from numlock or caps lock. Couldn't connect a mouse because my front USB is not connected properly to the board either. It has 128MB of RAM installed (stock I assume), and the same Pentium III it has had for it's 21 years. I also have a network card that maybe works. I've tried starting without RAM, with RAM in different slots, and without the network card all to no avail.
Also something noteworthy is that the computer is missing it's hard drive, floppy disk drive, and cooling fan (not CPU fan).
Any solutions? I know this is an old PC, but I've browsed all over the internet to only find a upgrade/service manual by HP. Not even HP made more than 1 or 2 manuals for this PC as far as I'm aware.

Hello
if the computer is a spare part, it will not work !
As you have noticed, it will be difficult or impossible to find documents, for this model
With all that seems to be missing, trying to buy and repopulate can be a waste of time and money.
the motherboard could be HS or something else ...
Up to you !
