Hello All!
To start, I understand that this HP Pavilion 7955 Desktop PC is VERY old (See Picture 1A below; most likely not even serviceable by HP). My grandmother would like to retrieve documents and photos of my aunt (who passed away 3 years ago, now), my sister, and myself from our childhood.

Grandma has been aware of the PC not booting since the year my aunt passed away (was working fine prior, however). After I have obtained it, I have tried to boot it myself (attempted a hard reset by unplugging and holding power button), and cleaning everything (inside and out CAREFULLY WITH PROPER SAFETY AND CONCERN; didn't boot before nor after cleaning) but have had zero success in getting it to turn on. The monitor works fine, though.
The PC receives power (barely?), and the green light indicator above the plug on the backside of the PC tower is lit but very, very dim (See Picture 2A).

There is, also, a red switch by the light (possible breaker switch? Not sure) that doesn't assist in powering on the PC tower (See Picture 2B). In fact, when I flip the switch, the dim green light turns off and then back on to dim when flipped back.

I am assuming there is a power supply issue, but I need clarification (and advice on where to purchase a new one). Or, if there's a solution to get it on and running without replacements, even better. Any and all help, advice, etc. is greatly appreciated! Thank you (in advance) for your time to read this, and for assisting in providing a solution for me! I look forward to all responses, and will be actively checking this post until I figure out a solution.

Hi @12GaugePro
I don't know if you can get this PC going again.
HP would not repair this PC. Maybe a local PC Tech could try a old AT type power supply to get the PC running. But, you could also have a MB problem or other component problem.
However, you might be able to recover data on the internal HDD using an external PATA 40 pin to USB adapter.
Amazon has purchase options for this adapter.
The HDD may be cooked so trying this may be a dead end.
You could also try Data Recovery Specialists. This option could be very expensive.
