HP Pavilion Gaming Desktop PC TG01-0000i (8BG56AV)
Microsoft Windows 11

Games may play fine for 5,10,15 minutes but then the system will lock up and require a hard reboot. OS, drivers, everything is up to date. Happens with EVERY game.

No error codes, no blue screen, just hard lock on whatever game I am on and can't return to windows. Any ideas? Pretty frustrated at the moment as I've only had this for a few days.

Then, you should contact HP Support, and get "in-warranty" support from them.

If you had purchased a new automobile, and you had a problem with it, would you ask on some forum for help, or would you go directly back to the automobile dealership for trouble-shooting? Same question for a brand-new computer.

It could be "overheating" that freezes the computer, or bad RAM, or an intermittent problem with the motherboard.

Seek help from HP.

Because the 12-month warranty is valid, HP will repair/replace your computer, at their expense.

Maybe, the local computer-store that sold it to you will also exchange it -- "no questions asked" ???

I have contacted HP support and was told to sign up for a $14.99 a month program because support "does not meet the expertise to fix your problem".

Yes I can return the computer for a full refund, but I'm used to trying to fix these problems myself. I do not normally purchase prebuilt systems and would like a direction to try to solve my problem.

I have HP support on a live chat now and am being told this is a "software issue".

At this stage, I recommend contacting HP SmartFriend Services who will be able to assist you further. You can call the SmartFriend team at (866) 211-5207 (In IVR, select option 1, and again press option 1 in the next IVR) to learn more about this service. The Smart Friend department is open 24 X 7. The Smart Friend is a premium service and there may be charges applicable.
The issue you are referring to is a software related issue, and is not supported under limited hardware support.

I wonder what Microsoft would say if your Microsoft software crashed while running a Microsoft XBOX game on your Microsoft Windows PC ?  Not our application software?  Not our operating system software?  Sigh.

Do you have access to any other computer, to try your game software on that computer? Crash?

Yes, they work fine there.

Be sure to run Windows Update, to bring your new computer up to the same level as the computer on which everything works.
