My PC performed an update on Microsoft Edge two weeks ago and it has not worked since. It will only allow me to type my pin and that is as far as it goes now.

at the login screen select safe mode as described above.
once you boot into safe mode create a new administrator account
if it asks for email or Microsoft account just skip over that
reboot and see if you log in with the new account
if you have the same problem post back here and we'll have to run a repair
[edit] sorry I just thought of something: you may not have waited long enough for the system to download updates. The Wi-Fi may not even be making a connection. Connect Ethernet cable to the modem and reboot and see if it can boot into windows properly. if not then create that other account
