Hi @Izaac1,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

I'm sorry to hear that you're experiencing issues with your HP Pavilion desktop. Let's troubleshoot the problem step by step.

Check Power Source:

  • Ensure that the power outlet is working by plugging in another device.
  • Try a different power cord if available.

Power Supply:

  • The power supply unit (PSU) might be faulty. If you have access to a spare PSU, consider swapping it to see if that resolves the issue.

Motherboard Connection:

  • Verify that all power connectors from the power supply are securely connected to the motherboard.

Memory Modules:

  • Reseat the RAM modules. Remove them, clean the contacts, and reinsert them firmly into their slots. Try booting with one module at a time to identify if one of them is faulty.

Graphics Card:

  • If your system has a dedicated graphics card, reseat it. If there's an onboard graphics option, try removing the dedicated card and connecting the monitor to the onboard port.

Peripheral Disconnect:

  • Disconnect all unnecessary peripherals (external hard drives, USB devices, etc.) and try starting the computer with only essential components connected.

CMOS Battery:

  • Reset the CMOS by removing the CMOS battery from the motherboard for a few minutes and then reinserting it.

Inspect for Physical Damage:

  • Check the motherboard for any signs of physical damage, such as burnt areas or damaged capacitors.

Diagnostic LEDs/Beeps:

  • Some motherboards have diagnostic LEDs or beeps. Check your motherboard manual to interpret any error codes.

Boot Without Storage:

  • Disconnect all storage drives (hard drives, SSDs) and attempt to boot the system. If it boots, there may be an issue with your storage device.

Test with Minimal Configuration:

  • Disconnect all non-essential components (extra drives, graphics card, etc.) and try booting with only the essentials (CPU, RAM, motherboard, power supply).

If none of the above steps resolve the issue, it's possible that a hardware component (such as the motherboard or CPU) may be faulty.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
