@Thilagan_S, Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding the HP Pro desk 400 G7 base model micro tower PC.

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution. We hope our assistance has been helpful!

If your HP ProDesk 400 G7 Microtower is showing a red light emitting from the CPU along with beep sounds, it is likely indicating a hardware issue. The beeping is a diagnostic indicator that helps identify the issue. Here are some common reasons and steps to troubleshoot this problem:

  1. Identify the Beep Code:

    • The number and pattern of beeps can indicate different issues. Pay attention to the beeping sequence (e.g., 2 short beeps, pause, 1 long beep) and refer to the HP support documentation to see what that specific beep code means.
  2. Check for Loose Components:

    • Ensure that all internal components such as RAM, graphics card, and cables are securely connected.
    • Open the case and press down gently on each component to make sure they are properly seated.
  3. Inspect for Overheating:

    • Ensure that the cooling fans are working properly and that there is no dust buildup blocking ventilation. Clean any dust using compressed air if necessary.
    • Verify that the thermal paste on the CPU has not degraded and is still providing adequate heat transfer.
  4. Test the Power Supply:

    • Ensure that the power supply is working correctly. Faulty power supplies can cause boot issues and may need to be replaced if suspected.
  5. Remove External Devices:

    • Disconnect all external devices and peripherals except for the monitor, keyboard, and mouse to see if the issue resolves. A faulty peripheral can cause boot problems.
  6. Reset the BIOS:

    • Sometimes, resetting the BIOS to default settings can resolve hardware conflicts. You can usually do this by accessing the BIOS setup during boot or by using a reset jumper on the motherboard.
  7. Check for Error Messages:

    • Connect a monitor to see if there are any error messages or codes displayed on the screen which can give more specific guidance.

I hope this helps!

Take care and have an amazing day!
